the autumn turf festival kicks off today and if this card is any indication of what's to come, we're in store for a very lean meet. between worker's comp and the end of the racing calendar, the available horse population is falling dramatically. let's hope it gets better from here on out.

r4: fly to the lake. this one has to better than shown of late and i look fo rhim to wake up over his favorite track.

r6: artic dream. hmn. two mazel trick youngesters to choose from in here; i'm opting for the bigger price and the frankel barn.

r7: not certain how special rate can lose this race. so i'm going to bet him at 8/5 or better.

Thanks Mazel, taking a couple as well.

Race 3 #5 Ionia.. stretching out and has speed and if unchallenged could wire this group.

Race 5 #7 Sharpster.. ran a big one at the Bay last out, don't think he'll bounce with that 4F work at SA Nov 2nd. Should take to turf and Nakatani aboard can only help.

Going to play a couple at Hollywood, myself. Will post in this thread.

Race 2
Though Bray's horse looks like the nuts, I'll put a couple bucks on AKAMAI - Matlow is deadly with firsters and the works here are plentiful.

Race 3
Going to take a chance that the Nov 3rd blow out is not a fluke and back WOODLASS. IONIA could possibly steal this one, but I'm banking on Victor to keep her honest with his filly and set things up for Kent D.

Nice payoff for Woodlass - letting it ride in race 4 with an exacta box 3,7
FLY TO THE LAKE looks best - NICK N COURT has been training like a big run is on the horizon.

Race 5
DECIMATE gets blinkers, Baze, and a return to the track where he broke his maiden. He should, umm, decimate, the field.

c,

good call w/ woodlass. i'm going to play fly and eagle in here, despite the spotty turf record.

i hate backing dead on the board frankels, mazel trick blood or not. i'm going to change my play (a sin, i know) and back jungle prince, who should go much better in here with the new blinks

Maze - nice place price on Jungle Prince.

Need to fill out the exacta with Special Rate (betting to win, but the exacta pays look sweet right now too).

Royal Place and Gentlemen's Club perhaps?

Thanks Maze - what a finish! $46 exacta and if Rate doesn't get that head bob I get nothing because I only played it one way. You shoulda heard me screaming at the tv!

In the finale I'm looking at LOST BRIDE and ZEANNE. Probably key the 6 with the 2 and throw Kruljac & O'Neill's fillies underneath as well.

Actually, the more I look at MOLLY'S GEM the more I like her chances. 6,7 with 2 with 5,6,7 & 6,7 with 5,6,7 with 2 seem like fair tri possibilities.

I'm changing my straight bet from the 6 to the 7 (shoot me).

ok. sounds good. i'm making a small play on political prize who should adore the added distance and she's a very big price. good luck.
